The Illinois Wheat Association (IWA) is a member organization serving all aspects of the Illinois wheat industry from producer to processor. Illinois Wheat Association provides educational opportunities, encourages research relating to wheat and wheat products, promotes marketing alternatives, and represents its members in state and federal legislative activities relating to the needs of the Illinois wheat industry.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Pursuant to the Illinois Wheat Development Act, notice is hereby given that petitions to become a candidate for Board Member(s) of the Illinois Wheat Development Board (IWDB) are available for the following IWDB districts:

At Large:    Statewide

District III:   Champaign, Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Lawrence, Marion, Moultrie, Richland, Shelby, Vermilion Counties

District VI:  Alexander, Clay, Edwards, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, Wabash, Wayne, White, Williamson Counties

Petitions are available through the Illinois Wheat Association or the Illinois Department of Agriculture in Springfield. To have their name placed on the ballot, these petitions must be completed and filed with the Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture in Springfield, Illinois, no later than 5:00 P.M., on September 1, 2026.

To be eligible to become a candidate for election, a person must be an affected producer, reside in the district, and be of legal voting age. In addition to this, the candidate's petitions must carry the signatures of at least 50 affected producers or 5 percent, whichever is less from the same given district in which the candidate is seeking office. At-Large candidate petitions are subject to same number of signatures which may be obtained statewide.

The election for Board Members of the Illinois Wheat Development Board will be held on October 28, 2026.
